Our Paddles
Construction
Each set of blades takes 4 to 5 days to complete and has many man-hours attached. Only the best carbon sourced from Europe and around the globe goes into making them. Once the blades have been removed from the moulds they are polished. The tips that the company chooses to use are limited to two proven types. The tips of the paddles are either reinforced with marine grade alloy or a carbon kevlar tip. The alloy tip is the strongest of any down river-racing blade.
At the assembly plant the blades are fitted to a carbon shaft. Every shaft fitted is of the highest quality and also made right here in New Zealand, by the leading fibre tube manufacturer Kilwell Ltd in Rotoura. The partnership between Kilwell Ltd and Legend Paddles Ltd is a long-standing one that assures we provide shafts that are not only strong but also lightweight and suitable for New Zealand conditions.
Innovative
At Legend Paddles we are constantly continuing to research both our designs and the material that we use ensuring that our performance paddles continue to be the market leader in this country. Each year our selection of paddles grows, as so do our paddle makers.
